Every month, the McCook Philanthropy Council recognizes a volunteer working to make McCook a better place to call home for everyone. The recognition comes with a cerficates and Chamber bucks.
The Volunteer of the Month award also highlights the organizations working day-in, day-out in McCook and Red Willow County to make the lives of residents and visitors better.

This week: Instead of thinking it is some one else's job or responsibility, each of us can do our part to make our community a place of pride. It can be part of an organized event like Beautify McCook's monthly cleanup or it can be on you own, while out for a walk through your neighborhood.
The 2026 Southwest Nebraska Big Give is Thursday, Nov. 5. Organizations may sign up to participate during the month of June. Community Chest - a sub-account of MCFF - organizes the Big Give each year.
