Q. What is the best thing about living in your community?
A. McCook offers opportunities for creative involvement around every corner. If you have a voice that you would like to be heard, there are always willing ears to listen to your ideas and dreams for the community.
Q. What would you tell someone who is thinking about returning to McCook/SW NE?
A. I had no intentions of moving back to Southwest Nebraska. I wrongfully believed that to pursue my dreams and passions I needed to be situated in a larger city. Thankfully, life had different plans and introduced me to my spouse who had no intentions of leaving the area - so we stayed!
Q. Through your time in McCook, what changes have you seen benefit McCook/SW NE?
A. Mindset changes have been instrumental in many of the successes we are seeing McCook experience. While there are so many amazing projects occurring - there are passionate people working hard behind the scenes to ensure that not only does McCook thrive with amenities and opportunities, but that there is an invisible success too through our way of thinking.
Q. What is your favorite memory of an event or activity in McCook?
A. The Cruising the Bricks Cruise Night is one of my favorite events every year in McCook. Seeing the joy from all ages whether cruising the bricks or watching in awe at the vintage, sporty, or unique cars is they roll around town. It is special to see a community event bring so many people together throughout our community for one evening.
Q. Why do you think it’s important to have McCook Community Foundation Fund?
A. MCFF is important for our community and Southwest Nebraska as it is a means for those with connections to our area to support the community for years beyond their own lives. It provides opportunity to support future generations through meaningful efforts that will help McCook thrive for years beyond ourselves.
Q. What excites you when you think about the future of your community?
A. I'm excited for the endless possibilities that McCook has to offer. I hope to see young families continue to and move back to our community. I'm also excited for the future of those young families and individuals in our community to contribute to the future they want to see for McCook.
