Q.  What is the best thing about living in McCook/Southwest Nebraska?

A. The best aspect of living in my community is the connection we have with one another. It’s great to see people wanting to build this this community and give back to one another. We all have different roles and skill sets, but as a whole the community is much stronger. In a rural area, “You have the ability to create an atmosphere you desire.” Southwest Nebraska has done that and should be very proud of our efforts.

Q.  Did you always plan to return to McCook/Southwest Nebraska? If not, what changed your mind?

A. I always intended to return back home because the connections I had made in the community were far too great to lose. Southwest Nebraska helped me grow to whom I am today and I plan to lead that mentality of growing others in the next generation.

Q. Through your time in McCook, what changes have you seen benefit McCook/SW NE?

A. Through my time, I’ve seen intentions and dreams slowly become reality and real life actions. Leaders have stepped up to the plate and we are on the verge of making huge strides in building a stronger community.

Q.  What is your favorite memory of an event or activity in McCook?

A. My favorite memory was tied to my personal efforts. As an 18 year old kid, I had the ability to rally businesses and community leaders to support a drive in movie for three years. To have that support and be able to give back to the community is something I’ll never forget.

Q.  Why do you think it’s important to have McCook Community Foundation Fund?

A. It’s vital to have the McCook Community Foundation Fund in the essence of we are making investments to improve our way of life in Southwest Nebraska. The Foundation is also a beneficiary to ensure capital is reinvest locally beyond one’s lifetime.

Q. What excites you when you think about the future of your community?

A. The part that excites me is the fact younger faces are returning to our community and taking on leadership roles. These young leaders will continue to build a stronger community for others. These leaders have fresh thoughts and ideas that in my opinion will break the concept of rural America as “old and dead”, but be portrayed as “alive and well”!

Q.  What do you hope to accomplish by being part of MCFF?

A. I have already gain tremendous respect for what MCFF stands for and vision is for the future! I hope to continue laying the foundation for the Foundation to be a larger part of building a better community to live, work and play
