Q.  What is the best thing about living in your community?

A. This community has allowed us to raise our family in an excellent educational system as well as in a safe environment which gave them activities and opportunities. We both have successful careers and professional relationships. McCook is known as a community that accomplishes what it sets out to do.

Q. What would you tell someone who is thinking about returning to McCook/SW NE?

A. McCook does offer job opportunities, competitive wages, and the blessings of a small town such as safety and good health care. Students who are educated here do go out and make a positive impact locally and globally. McCook is a fabulous place to raise a family due to its excellent schools, good health care, the activities offered, the belief in growth and change, as well as the investment community members are making for its future.

Q. What excites you when you think about the future of your community?

A. Our leaders are proactive and generous. The community is investing in the future so our children and grandchildren can continue to be blessed. We have such a rich history of leaders who have made a difference in our modern world. We are raising the next generation of those leaders who will learn by the example of today’s trend setters.

Q. What drew you to be part of MCFF?

A. My husband and I co-chaired the Sherwood Challenge. Afterward, I was asked to be on the board. I worked with enthusiastic, dedicated people who truly love and believe in the future of McCook.

Q. What do you hope happens by building MCFF's unrestricted endowment)?

A. I am a strong advocate for scholarship support for our students as they pursue advanced training after high school. I want to establish support by MCFF and local businesses who invest in students who will agree to come back to town as professionals, as entrepreneurs, as tradesmen, as business owners, and as contributing citizens. I also want to see major investment is projects that make McCook a better place to live whether that is a new swimming pool or an equine therapy program.
