Q.  What is the best thing about living in your community?

A. McCook is a vibrant and socially rich community.  McCook has the small town feel with plenty of events and things to do. Recently we were named one of the best small towns for food and arts, which is a great testament to all McCook has to offer.

Q. What would you tell someone who is thinking about returning to McCook/SW NE?

My wife and I are both from rural Nebraska and wanted remain close to family.  Our roots in Nebraska both go back to homesteaders, and we didn't feel the strong draw to the attractions of

big city life.

Q. Through your time, what surprises have you seen benefit McCook/SW NE?

A. We moved to McCook in 2008 during the height of the financial crisis, which thankfully did not impact this area nearly as much as the rest of the nation.  During those first few years our community had a number of construction projects going on, including a $32M hospital expansion, Keystone builidng, Graff Event center, new national guard armory, new city office-fire-police building, and the J street paving.  Now coming out of COVID we have a number of projects, including new pool, ballfields, YMCA remodel, MCC remodel of the old Elks, and many other items in the pipeline.

Q. What do you hope to accomplish by being part of MCFF?

MCFF is an organization that can play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our community.  By providing the tools, resources and leadership to help bring visions and dreams to reality; the MCFF can be a catalyst for many great projects and efforts for years and generations to come.
