March 2026 Volunteer of the Month-Liz McCarty

Bloodmobile Volunteer Named March 2026 Volunteer of the Month

Elizabeth McCarty is such a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile that she didn’t even question a request from coordinator Cathy Carman to “volunteer a few extra hours” at a recent bloodmobile.

While the Red Cross staff appreciated Liz stopping by, they didn’t really need the help at the bloodmobile sponsored by the McCook High School. Instead, it was an opportunity to honor Liz for her countless hours volunteering for the bloodmobile when it is in McCook.

Because of her devotion to the life-saving program, Elizabeth McCarty is the March 2026 McCook Volunteer of the Month.

In her nomination of McCarty, Carman noted that Liz has given her time for nearly two decades, bringing enthusiasm, positivity, and friendliness to the drive.

“For more than 18 years, she has volunteered to greet and check in blood donors at our two-day McCook Blood Drive, held six times annually,” Carman said. “Many times, prior to the drives she will help reach out to donors to help fill schedule.”

The McCook Philanthropy Council selects the monthly recipient for the McCook Volunteer of the Month award as part of the McCook Community Foundation Fund’s “McCook Volunteers” program.

If there is a volunteer in the community who should be recognized, please contact the McCook Chamber of Commerce at 308.340.3200 or visit McCook Volunteers on the MCFF website, mccookfoundation.org to complete a nomination form.

The only requirement is that the nominee must be a resident of McCook or Red Willow County. Please have information about the nominee along with where and how they volunteer in the community.
