220 Norris Ave. - MNB Bank - originally named McCook National Bank - originally occupied the Farmers and Merchants Bank on Main Avenue when it opened in July 1907. For 50 years, the bank operated out of that 25-foot wide building. But over the past half century, the bank has expanded by purchasing and renovating adjacent buildings to meet customer needs. One hurdle along the way was a fire in 1981, which caused damage to the bank and neighboring buildings, but because of a quick response from the police and fire departments and a dedicated staff, the bank opened the next day.
