408 Norris Ave. - Opening in 1927, the Fox Theatre in McCook has served the community and surrounding area with film and live entertainment for nearly a century. Built by McCook businessman A. Barnett, the theater originally hosted Sunday afternoon vaudeville shows but soon hosted “talkies.” The most recent renovations started in 2010 by the non-profit Alliance for the Encouragement of the Visual and Performing Arts to keep the McCook Fox Theatre an enjoyable place to catch a movie, view live theater, enjoy concerts, host weddings, and conduct business meetings and seminars. Located in downtown McCook, the Fox is available as a rental facility and hosts events on a regular basis, lighting up Norris Avenue with its glowing marque.
