Waugh Named July 2026 McCook Volunteer of the Month

Kerri Waugh has dedicated countless hours to serving the McCook community through volunteer organizations and through her job, earning her the July 2026 McCook Volunteer of the month award.

Waugh was recognized for her involvement with the McCook Chamber Board, the McCook Cordials, McCook Christian Church, and FFA. For the past six years, she has been an active member of the Chamber Board and continues to contribute her time and leadership on the Noel on Norris Committee, Chamber Director Sarah Schneider said.

Professionally, Kerri serves as a Mortgage Advisor with CharterWest Bank, where she helps individuals and families achieve their homeownership goals.

“Kerri understands the vital role organizations such as the McCook Chamber and the McCook Cordials play in creating opportunities that bring people together, promote local businesses, and strengthen community connections,” Schneider said, as both organizations rely heavily on volunteers who generously share their time, talents, and energy.

Schneider added, “Without dedicated individuals like Kerri who are willing to serve on the board, committees, help organize events, and support community initiatives, many of the events such as Heritage Days, Noel on Norris, and Bash on the Bricks, would not be possible.”

Kerri and her husband, Nate, are proud parents of two children, Kaedin Waugh (engaged to Jake O'Dea) and Cason Waugh. Throughout their lives, she has emphasized the value of community service and the importance of giving back, helping instill those same values in her family.

The McCook Philanthropy Council selects the monthly recipient for the McCook Volunteer of the Month award as part of the McCook Community Foundation Fund’s “McCook Volunteers” program.

If there is a volunteer in the community who should be recognized, please contact the McCook Chamber of Commerce at 308-345-3200 or visit McCook Volunteers on the MCFF website, mccookfoundation.org to complete a nomination form.

The only requirement is that the nominee must be a resident of McCook or Red Willow County. Please have information about the nominee along with where and how they volunteer in the community.
