Judy McCune Named July 2025 McCook Volunteer of the Month

The McCook Philanthropy Council recognized Judy McCune as July’s Volunteer of the Month. Judy was selected for her outstanding dedication and selfless service to the McCook community through countless hours of volunteering.

Chamber Director Sarah Schneider shared, “Judy is always willing to lend a hand—whether it’s checking IDs at events, serving tirelessly on the Heritage Days Committee, or teaching Oktoberfest attendees how to polka dance. Her enthusiasm and energy are contagious.”

In addition to her work with Chamber events, Judy also serves on the Community Hospital Patient & Family Advocacy Council and helps with 4-H judging, making a positive impact across multiple facets of the community.

Even at her job as marketing director at Kinship Pointe in McCook, Judy is active getting the facility and its residents involved in the community so that everyone can make an impact.

When asked about her commitment to volunteering, Judy said, “Volunteering not only gives back, but I look at it for personal growth and social connections.” She humbly added, “There are many who deserve recognition.”

If there is a volunteer in the community who should be recognized, please contact the McCook Chamber of Commerce at 308-345-3200 or visit McCook Volunteers on the McCook Community Foundation Fund’s website, mccookfoundation.org to complete a nomination form.

The only requirement is that the nominee must be a resident of McCook or Red Willow County but please have information about the nominee along with where and how they volunteer in the community. The volunteer honoree is selected monthly by the McCook Philanthropy Council.
