McCook Heritage Square Walking Tour

Step back into Nebraska history and discover McCook's beautiful and historic district on the Heritage Square Walking Tour. The tour is best appreciated in person, guided by the brochure or the recently-added QR codes, which connect you to background on each location.

The tour spans more than 10 blocks near and throughout downtown McCook, displaying a variety of architectural styles from the late 1800s through the early to mid-1900s. Your journey begins at the Keystone Business Center or the Museum of the High Plains (where paper copies of the walking tour are available) and travels up and down Norris Avenue.

Other stops include the boyhood home of Gov. and U.S. Sen. E. Benjamin Nelson, the former home of Frank B. Morrison, the U.S. Sen. George W. Norris State Historic Site, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Sutton House and other historical landmarks unique to McCook.
